About Me

I grew up in Shropshire and was a member of the Wheatland Hunt Pony Club (WHPC) where I began my competition and coaching journey. 

I competed for WHPC at Novice and Intermediate Area horse trials, dressage and show jumping competitions.

I completed my first Pony Club coaching qualification and then went onto Hartpury College and University where I completed an Equitation college course and a BSC (HONS) degree in Equestrian Sports Coaching. 

​

Alongside this, I gained valuable experience at great Stud and Eventing yards over the years, whilst competing my horses and setting up my coaching business on the side before setting up full time in Priors Norton.

​

I have completed many coaching qualifications including British Eventing L2, UKCC L2 generic, and will continue to progress my coaching up the levels. 

I am a BHS Accredited Professional Coach, fully insured, qualified and up to date with all safeguarding, CPD and first aid certificates.

I currently have two horses.

Lorenzo HBC (Leo) is a 6 year old, 16.2 Bosch Blue (Cantos) x Memphis bay gelding who I have produced from a (very cheeky!) 4 year old. He is currently Eventing at 100cm and show jumping at 1.10m. I hope to step him up to Novice/2* in 2023.

Clonakilla Blaze (Blaze) is a 14 year old, 15.2hh French Buffet x White Clover bay gelding. I have Evented him to Novice level, but he now enjoys less pressure at a lower level for fun.

I am based in Priors Norton, where I do the majority of my coaching, but also travel to yards or run clinics at a variety of venues. You will often find me with our two lovely labradors, Oz and Flora, who love observing coaching sessions!

I am very proud of what Abby Lloyd Coaching has become. I have so many brilliant clients who I couldn't of built up my coaching without. I look forward to meeting new clients and to continuously progressing my coaching.
